About Counselling
Talking therapies, including counselling and psychotherapy, have been proven to help people through a range of issues, whether they relate to current difficulties or traumatic events from your past. Talking to someone who won't judge you or tell you what you should do can help you find your own way forward. The counsellor accompanies you on your journey, providing a safe and confidential space for you to explore anything that may be causing you distress.
Along with general counselling skills, an integrative psychotherapist like me will also have specific techniques they can use based on your own individual needs and goals.
Although traditionally counselling has been accessed face to face, I have also been offering online appointments ever since starting my private practice. This may feel different to sharing the same room with your therapist, but these methods can still be an effective way of working. They offer clients greater convenience, and may cause less anxiety for some people.
If you would like to find out more about counselling and psychotherapy in general, the BACP website is a good place to start. Or you can contact me for a free initial consultation.
